How to use Premarin:
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. THIS MEDICINE may come with an instruction leaflet. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you may have about this medicine. WASH YOUR HANDS before using this medicine. USE THE SUPPLIED APPLICATOR to insert this medicine into the vagina. Wash the applicator with warm water and soap after each use. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, and you are using it once daily at night, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.

Common reasons for using Premarin:
This medicine is an estrogen hormone used to treat vaginal conditions caused by menopause or a deficiency of estrogen hormone.

Common side effects of Premarin:
SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, stomach upset, bloating or nausea. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience depression, breakthrough bleeding, abnormal vaginal bleeding, breast tenderness or enlargement, vomiting, weight change, swelling of fingers or ankles, or changes in vision. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience calf/leg pain or swelling; trouble breathing or shortness of breath; chest pain; one-sided weakness; slurred speech; lumps in the breast; sudden severe headache, dizziness, or fainting; yellowing of the skin or eyes; dark urine; or abdominal pain, swelling, or tenderness. If you notice any other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.

Cautions before using Premarin:
KEEP ALL DOCTOR AND LABORATORY APPOINTMENTS while you are using this medicine. SMOKING WHILE USING THIS MEDICINE may increase your risk of stroke, heart attack, blood clots, high blood pressure, or other diseases of the heart and blood vessels. IF YOU WEAR CONTACT LENSES and you develop problems with them, contact your doctor. DO NOT USE a latex condom or diaphragm for birth control while using this medicine. Use another form of birth control. THIS MEDICINE MAY CAUSE dark skin patches on your face. Exposure to the sun may make these patches darker. If patches develop, use a sunscreen or protective clothing when exposed to the sun, sunlamps, or tanning booths. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE if you are pregnant. IF YOU SUSPECT THAT YOU COULD BE PREGNANT, contact your doctor immediately. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.
